She still performs six nights a week with the band today.
Tara loves to dance and to teach dance-especially ceili dancing. An Irish Citizen as well as American, she believes it is important to continue to pass on the traditions of the Irish culture to future generations. Tara understands that everyone learns differently and is able to adapt her style to best suit the needs of the dancer. She believes that Irish Dance not only teaches the culture of Ireland through music and dance but it also instills discipline, teamwork, confidence, leadership skills and so much more in all who learn the tradition.
Tara studied for her certification under the excellent guidance of Christine O’Riada and Martin Percival. She taught in Las Vegas, heading up the Nevada branch of The Martin Percival School of Irish Dance for 6.5 years. Recently, Martin decided to retire from teaching and Tara took the opportunity to start up her own school, Scoil Rince Ni Riada, Irish Dance: Las Vegas.
Under her instruction, her students have been tremendously successful in regional, national, and international competition. Dancers have recalled at The All Irelands and have qualified and competed at Oireachtas Rince Ni Cruinne (The World Championships of Irish Dance).
She brings enthusiasm and 18 years of teaching experience to Scoil Rince Ni Riada Irish Dance: Las Vegas.
