Illness in our Scoil Rince Ni Riada Family

As most of our parents know, the Wilson family found out recently that their daughter Naomi has a disease called Aplastic Anemia.

It’s the reason why, in our monday classes, we use hand sanitizer before the kids hold hands in ceili and they are sent straight to wash their hands after sneezes and the like. We have to be extra careful not to send the boys home with extra germs.

It’s important to let the school know if your child has a cold or any illness. If they are sick, it is best to keep them home and schedule a make up.

Scoil Rince Ni Riada hopes that the treatment will work and Naomi can return to a normal childhood very soon. Naomi is in our thoughts and prayers.

Tara Reid, ADCRG, is the director of Scoil Rince Ni Riada Irish Dance: Las Vegas (Scoil Rince Ni Riada is Gaelic for The Reid School of Dance). She has taught Irish dancing in the Las Vegas area for 13 years and is in the 7th year of owning her own school. She comes from an Irish Dancing family that can boast 6 certified teachers, 4 certified adjudicators and 4 dancing schools located in the USA and Northern Ireland.
She is also the principal dancer with Sin E Ri Ra, the house band at The Nine Fine Irishmen at the New York New York Hotel and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip. She has danced with them for 14 years and is still absolutely loving it!
